Today is another black day for the PostNuke community.
A major part of the management and development teams resigned from the PostNuke development team today, and I think it is a really bad thing for the PN community that the recent events have led up to this.
As things stand right now the really big question is; will PostNuke live to see the release of version 1.0?
In order to let the community believe that PostNuke is all live and well a new “stable” release 0.72 is available for download.
In my point of view this release is premature, buggy and in fact a dead end, when it comes to the evolution of PostNuke.
The release next in line is 0.8, which will use a different template system than the one implemented in 0.72
In view of this the NukeOwl will not support PN 0.72. I will follow the continuing work on the 0.8 in order to make the NukeOwl run in that environment, but I wouldn’t be surprised if 0.8 never surface.
I sincerely hope that the PN development team will stabilize, sober up and that real work will be done to make PN into the professional CMS system it deserves to be, instead of a playpen for juveniles.

postnuke is bigger than this latest episode. i predict it will in fact reach 1.0 but not with the current management in place. Harry means well but needs to realise (quickly) that he does not have the support of the community. not to say his efforts are not appreciated.
the devs should not get told who is taking over, it should be a vote... |
